Where to get the Common Language Runtime Download and How to Use It?

The common language runtime can be downloaded from the Microsoft website. The file to download is MicrosoftCLR.exe. The file is around 320 KB in size. So it is easy to download even in slow internet connections. The MicrosoftCLR is supported by Windows 2000 that has Service Pack 4, Windows XP, and Windows 2003.

Make sure that you have all the critical updates in place in your operating system and you also have installed the latest service pack for your operating system. If not, you can check the Microsoft website for the latest updates and service pack. For downloading the MicrosoftCLR.exe file go to the download page and click the download button.

It will prompt you to either run the program from the current location or to save it to your system so that you can install it some other time. Select an option that you like and you will be downloading the CLR to your system.
